Ryan Bertrand will not play in England's friendlies this week. Southampton defender Ryan Bertrand has withdrawn from the England squad following a back issue. The 28-year-old returned to his club on Tuesday for further assessment on the injury. The FA called Bertrand's exit "a precautionary measure" but confirmed he will not play in upcoming friendlies against Netherlands and Italy.
